Looking for a new computer

I need to get a new computer just for my files, I don't have my machine PC connected to the internet to keep issues to a minimum (I'm already new to this so I don't need software update issues yet) so now I use my kids laptop to make/get files and put them on a USB,I need my own setup, can anyone recommend a good and budget minded laptop/tablet? It would be great if it could also have a pen that would let me draw in Inkscape. Thanks for the suggestions.

Do you have a local business that specializes in computers? If you have a good one they can custom build a computer for you that meets your requirements without all the extra BS that most store bought computers have on them.

Go to Google and type in Refurb Laptops and it will show many locations for buying laptop that have come back off lease for very fair prices.
I have bought many desktops for use on the tables I built this way. I think a pen like you want is an add on for a PC. Do a search here as some of the member use drawing tables.

I have had very good luck buying refurbished pc's on Ebay. I didn't get the laptop version, but the desktop - HP brand. The last one I bought was very similar to this one.
