Pilot ark problems

Hi all,
I've I problem with a HT2000 plasma
I am just firing up this machine manually with switch wired to the plasma start for now
As it come with a esab table and I am revamping the table to a more modern controller.
Anyway
The plasma will only give me a very short pilot ark about 3-5mm long, and sometimes no pilot ark at all,
Also the fault led blinks 4 times, indicating that high frequency was unable to ignite the pilot ark within one second
I have a new pilot ark relay fitted, have also tested the resistors at Rear of machine,
Also stuck a magnet on the current sensor and the ok led is lighting up ok,

Took out the spark rods in RHF UNIT and cleaned them and reset them to .5mm apart,. Also tried them at about .7mm aswell,
But no luck,

I had talked to a hypertherm tech in Europe, and he suggested I change out the torch and leads for new ones,
But would there be anyway of checking the torch before I would do this,. As new torch an leads would cost up in 1500 Euro or more
