New and need help! please
Hello everyone,
I am grossly new to plasma cutting. I have started doing artwork for signs and other metal cut outs using AutoCAD LT. I am a novice, but a little familiar with the basics of CAD. I have been having issues with drawings lagging or freezing our computer while trying to load drawings into our plasma cutting software "fabrication CAMduct"? The file is 12.6MB, is there a way to condense it or simplify the file prior to loading it into the CAMduct? I would appreciate the assist GREATLY!!!

12.6MB is a large file size for sure. Are you able to upload one of your drawings here so folks have a look and see whats going on?

Select your file and make a ZIP or a RAR file out of it and as long as it's under 1 meg it should load.

this is the file that was freezing the program. I got it from 12MB to 10MB and zipped it. Can someone help me determine what can be done to the drawing to make it work?

I tried opening it and if I highlight one area, all of it highlights. Some of my programs won't even open it. Maybe multiple layers???
I would think a redraw is necessary.

It all looks usable to me.
Your Covington Pub file looks great, I suppose if you see a couple an issue with the S just fix that and then cut it.
The watermelon file had thousands of nodes which was making your file size enormous and did need some work but def a good file that can be worked with.
I was able to get your node count down to less than 300 and file size down to a tiny 384KB without distorting the profiles much. Have a look at the attached dxf and see what you think.
