Rottweiler Help

Post by Soter907 »

I need help seperating the colors for a mural piece for a friend's celebration of life. Is there anyone who can help me out.
Thanks in advance. Looking for svg or DXF. I'm going to do a multi layer piece.

Not sure what you actually mean by "separating the colors", but here is a quick auto trace. Hopefully you can clean it up and edit to achieve your desired result.

You can use Inkscape to do what you want here are some of the steps. Import the drawing then click on path then trace bitmap. A menu with appear click on color (shown in the attached image) then reduce the color number to 3 and then Ok this will put the trace image on top of the original. move the traced and delete the original. Highlight the traced and click on path and then break apart, now under view click on display and then outline. You will now have the drawing separated into the different items and you can select for cutting independently.
When done go back to view and display and click on normal or it will stay in outline for the next trace (whoops). :HaHa :HaHa

Ok - Now I understand what you are after.

Here is your file with colors separated into 3 layers. The tan will need some cleanup.

In Soter907's defense he hasn't been on since Monday August 3rd at 11:39 p.m. according to his last active status, 7 minutes after he posted this thread. Maybe when he asked for help he didn't mean right then. :HaHa

I wasn't meaning to pick on anyone individually. I realize that some people will get help privately and have communications in private. It just seems that we mostly see only half of the process in public.
I was super impressed at how much information was shown in this thread by all parties involved.

I have not heard back from the OP - either public or private. But that's OK - it's still fun for me to work on these files, and quite often I learn something new as well.

Glad to hear you've got your computer back up and running. We'd all like to see the end result once you cut and finish it.
