On May 12th 2020 a large commercial fire at the 600 block of Penn Street in Huntingdon Borough has destroyed a long-standing business and displaced 59 residents from the adjacent apartment building. 15 million gallons of water were used to control the blaze. The Star Lab CNC machine had a melted long axis cable carrier and part of the control box and was submerged. The historic building was destroyed. After the machine was dried out and cleaned up the operator was amazed it actually turned on and worked. "That machine can have a fire rating it was very impressive it held up to the fire and 15 million gallons of water. After cleaning up the linear rails and replacing the casing on the control box we were amazed the shuttle PC and the table worked. The X axis cable carrier was melted and so were the switches but all the motors and controls survived. We need a price on replacement cable carrier and new switches and we will have to replace one at a time as money is tight" said Jason from Huntingdon electric. Bulltear Industries the Manufacturer of the Star Lab CNC machines has decided to replace all components needed at no cost to Huntingdon Electric. "We feel that in times of need we have to come together for each other and support as best we can to get folks on track. Huntingdon electric was a staple in the community and employed many people in PA. We respect and support USA manufacturing. Replacing these parts at no cost is the minimum we can do to help.
