New to plasma cutting, have a blacksmith shop and looking to expand market- have a job for a fellow blacksmith cutting oak leaves
each leaf has
1 pierce
20 inches of cut
14 gauge
he is buying 50
i used the excel spread sheet and it puts me at 2.45 each when volume of 20+ when I input the price I paid for the steel
the sheet has me at .08 cents an inch with .25 per pierce.....
sound about right?
thanks

Sounds a little on the cheap side to me especially if you are responsible for any cleanup after the cut.

That's a little better but I don't know if your processing those after the cut or selling them right off the table. I have found some industries are willing to pay a lot more than others. Cutting production parts never paid well for me, I like the custom 1 off stuff you can charge what you think the market or customer will pay and get much more.

How did it go? Personally, I’d be on the cheap side. 1. Blacksmiths are generally good guys and in the same camp as you trying to make a living. 2. It can likely lead to more repeat business that pays better.
