Here's a link to a thread I started on the Sheetcam forum.

Also does anyone know of a link to download previous install versions ?
Cheers,
Keith.

Re: Has anyone had this import problem in the Development version
Thanks a bunch Rob.
However, Les just replied and apparently the updates I was missing are only for Linux.
Les also said he's found the cause of the problem and it will be fixed in the next update.
He also said the new version will also automatically disable "Remove Duplicate Lines" for more complicated imports. I really don't understand the need for that because my "complicated" drawing opens very quickly (3 seconds) in standard version but takes several minutes in the development version. So I'm not seeing how that setting is the culprit because it's always set in the standard version I use.

Re: Has anyone had this import problem in the Development version
The issue is that in the current dev version, splines get broken into tens of thousands of short line segments. This amount of data makes remove duplicate lines choke. For example the main outline in your drawing is >80K lines. The new spline code drops that down to about 7K lines. Stable generates about 8K lines from the same outline so the new dev should actually be a bit faster loading than stable. After arc detection and detail reduction this drops to a few hundred arcs + lines. Your drawing doesn't have enough detail to hit the 'remove duplicate lines' threshold in the new release.

Ahha, so that's how it all works, thank Les.
Up until this point I had no idea the Development version had different programming for importing drawings. That's why I'd been thinking it was a bug in the Development version.

Rob,
just another thanks for those links you gave.
While checking them out it dawned on me the URL addresses are identical apart from the version number.
So all we have to do is copy the download link and change the version number, and then that version will download.
