hey there
i recently posted a thread about what to go with for a first time table....ive heard a few different times to consider building my own.....the mechanical part of that im fine with but im a bit in the unknown on the programming side of things, that said i also do not have any personal experience in the cad department, what programs would you guys suggest, is there more then 1 a guy should get ? id like to be able to take a picture and transfer into the cut program but also design my own stuff..... any pointers ?

This is the same answer I gave in your other post.
I would recommend Inkscape it is free and fairly easy to learn, there are thousands of video tutorials on YouTube that discus a function at a time. It will do simple CAD works, not a full blown CAD program but will help to wrap your mind around the concept.
