Random pierce when using DXFs and Sheetcam

When using DXFs and Sheetcam I am getting random pierce's in nearly every cut, when a SVG is used the pierce does not occur, any suggestions? Using Corel Draw to draw and there are no extra nodes when saved. Thanks for any ideas.

It may be the way Corel formats DXF files, when you import into SheetCam you could do a simple test operation and see if you see the extra Pierces. each separate start will show you can use the contour function to move them to a different layer then just unclick that layer and they will not be in your final operation when making th G-code. Could be a member what uses Corel will have a better answer.

Corel Draw will save in several different .dxf formats. Some play better with Sheetcam than others. But why bother with dxf's when Corel Draw will save in svg's , which Sheetcam loves.

CorelDraw has one of the worst DXF export filters around. It breaks all of the arc and curves inot hundreds of tiny line segments then SheetCAM has to tray and piece them together. The CorelDraw import is not a lot better. The best solution is as listed: Do as much in SVG as possible. If the art is in DXF consider getting QCAD (Free) and import keeping the polylines and arcs and then (Using the optional $$ SVG export plugin) send it to SheetCAM.
The arcs and circles come across intact. I don't advocate using a CAD program for decorative cutting though .

CorelDraw (after 14) has a good SVG EXPORT filter but if the import DXF is bad you have to spend a LOT of time cleaning it up . BTW Inkscape works natively in SVG and Imports a bunch of formats and its free for both Windows and LINUX platforms. Inkscape will open CorelDraw CDR files too.
