pierce time problem/ sheetcam /mach3

Post by bob49 »

I need some help from the plasma guru's- I'm running a diy table with mach 3,sheet cam and delta cad. TD cut master 82.
Here is my problem, when i go to cut parts with an internal cut and pierce point my torch actually moves before the pierce is completed. (lag time from when torch signal is sent to arc start) I'm not using THC or OK to move, but will soon.
I have played with pierce delay in sheet cam, but had little success , i have set delay as far as 4 seconds but it does not respond. Is it possible to set a dwell time for the torch to move? any input would be helpful thanks Bob

If you're inputting seconds in sheetcam then you might need to set dwell-time-in-seconds (by unchecking dwell-time-in-milliseconds) in mach3 under general-logic-configuration

Or just enter milliseconds in sheetcam i.e. enter 1000 for 1 second dwell
