oven burner
has anybody used a propane forced air heater for there heat element

You can use any torpedo heater with an auto on/off thermostat.

Yes they work. However you will be wasting huge amounts of heat because the forced air from the torpedo will constantly be pushing hot air out of the oven much faster than it can be absorbed by the parts. I have done several configurations with torpedo heaters and cut my fuel use by at least half by changing to propane burners that only draw the amount of air needed for good combustion.
