1200x1200 (4'x4') plasma build
1200 x 1200mm table using Powermax 45XP, LinuxCNC, Mesa electronics, steppers, linear rails (HGR15 a good size? ) and rack and pinion. Magnetic break away mount and floating head.

Looks like a great start Ryan. It took me 3 months to build the Z axis so it won't take long from there!
If you have not bought your rails yet, I'd recommend you get 25mm ones from alibaba/aliexpress. They'll be about the same price as 15mm purchased in AU.

I'm a bit hesitant to buy long expensive it in case of shipping damage. Did you use 25mm on the Z too?

I used 1 x HGR 15 on the Z axis and a short piece of HGR15 for the floating head. If I did it again I'd use 1 x HGR25 on the Y axis (across the gantry) instead of the 2 x HGR15's I used.
These are the HGR25 rails I bought for the table but I only paid USD $350 for them landed.

Yes, they are way more expensive now than when I bought them.
I chose them over these guys who I bought my racks and pinions from becasue these were dearer.

Forgot to mention those guys have their own brand of linear rail and will cut to size. These are 2.0m long
