Mach3 and Sheetcam?

Can sheetcam run the plasma table by itself or do I need both? If so what it the point of the 2 different programs?

You import the drawing into Sheetcam, adjust all the settings, check start points and paths etc, when your happy and it looks good (you can even simulate a cut on the monitor) you then generate a Tap file (G-code) You then open Mach, find and load the tap file (G-code) and hit run to have the Mach program run the machine.

Sheetcam does the leadin, leadout, sequencing, and basic manual nesting, then creates the g-code. Mach is the software that controls the hardware to run the g-code.
