Wright cnc 5 x 10
Well, I bought a wright cnc 5 x 10 table.
I haven't seen much written on them.
I have seen some less than favorable comments on the web after I bought it.
I got it two weeks after having a total knee replacement
So it is slow going on the assembly.
Strictly me though because it is pretty easy to put together.
I use turbo cad for drawing. Then to sheetcam for g code and setup tommorrow I will replace my filter system on my air compressor and give it a go.
I have done a couple test runs without the torch running.
Glad I did.
Easy to miss inputting correct information.
Again, me learning the software.
Being one of the least expensive machines I anticipated needing to work out bugs.
So far it has been learning the software.
After I make some cuts I will post more.

I'm interested in your progress on the table. Please keep the updates coming. Good luck with the knee.

I also have an inexpensive table. The programming was the hardest part for me until I joined Plasmaspider.
The help that the members give is what turned the lights on for me.
Learn to read what the Sheetcam results are showing you and your life will be greatly reduced of stress.

Re: Wright cnc 5 x 10
so today I put new filters in my air supply just to start fresh.
drew up a simple base plate and ran it
To my amazement it worked!
will hook up my THC tomorrow.
I like to do one thing at a time then I have less to troubleshoot if things don't work.
First cut was pretty clean.
Had some movement but I think it could be from torch height may be a bit high and the material was pretty small and moved from the airflow.

Ok, so far I am having good performance using drawings I make on Turbo Cad.
Love drawing up a part and seeing the machine cut it out.
Need to learn how to take an image from the net and make a DXF file.
I keep getting errors. And strange cut paths

Re: Wright cnc 5 x 10
Down load some dxf files that are "Known good" from plasma spider then try and see how they work. This way you will eliminate that part of potential user error. I am looking at one of these machines myself since my 4x4 plasmacam is to small for some of what I want to make.
I convert a lot of web images using Bobart. I put points all around the edges of the image I want, then connect them with either lines if they are straight, or arcs if they are curves. Once done I save what I drew as a dxf and just use that clean dxf for my path.

I will try this.
Spending way to much time cleaning up expiramental images.
As far as the table goes it is working well

Awesome, Mine was about three weeks late.
So far been working well.
Issues today are that I have been playing around the settings and need to figure how to get back to default settings.
The picture above is a security box for rotating Christmas lights.
Loved drawing it up then cutting it out and everything fit perfect.

Todays progress.
Finally put on the proma thc.
Hmm, going to have to go back to the set up.
Everything works great then the torch rose about an inch above the table. Strange thing is it kept cutting.

Power source died.
Talked to James Their tech guy.
Gave me information to ship back.
No problem, they are fixing and sending back.
Good response time and diagnosis.

Re: Wright cnc 5 x 10
I just ordered mine on Monday. Only got the 4x4 with water pan torch height control and new hypertherm xp45 with machine torch. Telling me about 7 weeks for delivery. I was going to build my own but don't have a lot of time so went this route. I have a powder coat and laser engraving business so that takes most of my time. James answered my questions very quickly. So far nothing bad to say about wright cnc.

Got my table and i have been using it for couple weeks now. There is a bit of a learning curve coming from my laser engraved but getting there slowly. I had some issues with the brand new hypertherm 45xp that took some time to figure out but all in all it doing what it is intended for . Just like anything else sure wish i could have gotten a bigger table and bigger plasma cutter .

I own a 4x8 and I've had it for about three months now I really like the machine and Wrights customer service is great! My only issue I have with the machine is my water table, the pan and slots are all 16ga material, and the pan comes in 4 pieces with about 20-25 bolts and nuts to connect the seams, you have to use silicone to seal it which for me hasn't lasted long. I'm currently overseas for work right now so when I get back I think I might make my own pan and slots for it out of one solid piece as well as a little thicker material.

I purchased a 4x8 unit from wright cnc in late feb. early march. They were great in helping me decide which one to get. Returned my phone call in less than 5 mins. Once they received my money they wont return my phone calls or answer my emails. Still haven't gotten a delivery date. Really hoping this isn't the norm with them.
