Exploding text in arc aligned

I am having trouble exploding the text when i do the arc aligned text. Only when using arc aligned text whenever i try to explode it, it will flip around or change to a whole different text style. I found a video before explaining how to get around it but i cant find it now. Should have bookmarked it. Damnit! Anybody help me out with this.

You first need to use the explode text in the "Express Tools" tab then explode it once more with the explode feature in the "Home" tab.
