Hi,
I have an aluminum (5052) piece that will be used indoors in an office environment. It is larger than my powder coating oven and I want to preserve the brushed look and prevent oxidation. Other than clear powder coating, what is the best spray clear coat to use on raw aluminum? I am not opposed to getting a decent hvlp gun, but since I rarely spray clear, is there a good rattle can clear for aluminum? I have read about some spray on clear coats may chip or peel on aluminum.
Any advice?
Thanks,
Brad

Re: Need Clear Coat Advice for Aluminum
Napa auto parts sell a rattle can clear that works great on carbon/aluminum, we have used it on different projects in the shop for years.
When applied properly even exposed to the outdoors I have not experienced any chipping or peel.
We used it on cast iron as well. It dries very fast. Some of these projects just need a quick and dirty rattle can .
