lettering is goofy, can't make it part of the dxf

need some help...friend needs the marker, I don't seem to be able to get the lettering to cut, or even be part of the dxf...this is in acad 16

In Autocad you cannot use regular text, it doesn't export as a dxf. You have to use express tools, explode text command which will explode the text to lines and arcs. It will require some fixing up after that.
Or you can use an aftermarket text to dxf program such as Stencil Fonts, www.cadkas.com, and import the saved dxf into your drawing, explode and go from there.

Thank you...I had forgotten about that bunch of commands...will give it a try...seeing as I didn't get the file to load.....thanks again....don
