I am looking at buying a new 4X4 table, and would like to know if anyone has a table built by Precision Cutting Systems (blue series) what is the software like, I am also looking at the Plasmacam 4X4 as well the plasmacam software looks like it is very simple to use. and there is a difference of almost $5,000 between the two, I do know the PSC has a built in water tray and open style gantry, not sure if I like no support at one end, any thoughts?

Re: New table
Remember the PlasmaCam comes with a full function arc voltage based Torch Height control.....and slat bed and software. I believe with the Precision machine you have to purchase the drive motors and controls and software and THC separately, as well as building the frame and slat bed under the machine. If you are comparing prices make sure it is apples to apples! Putting it all together is a good thing.....you will understand the whole system.
Both machines are good choices to get started with cnc plasma cutting....and in my opinion (33 years of cnc plasma cutting) torch height control is necessary!

Re: New table
I have a plasmacam 4x4 table i use for a lot of stuff.... I have been totally happy with it in every aspect except..... if you are planning on using the integrated program for drawing a lot of complex designs I would definately buy a CAD program.... and use that instead... just export in DXF into your plasma program. I do this all day and it works great. .... My experience is that you can expect accuracy of about 8 thousandths from the plasmacam system.... roughly 4 hair widths if you are caucaisian. My table runs all day every day and no big problems.

Re: New table
My first table was a 4x4 plasmacam and it was great! I enjoyed it alot and found it easy to assemble and use. The support is great and the machine is well know in the industry as well as at this website. I don't have alot of experience with the precision cutting systems but have had positive feedback from their customers in the past. Good luck on your purchase. Let us all know what you decided and why. Thanks! JH
