Laser addon for plasmatable?

Laser addon for plasmatable?

Has anyone looked into or have any info on a retrofit or home cooked laser for a plasma table? We have a 6 x 10 Dynatorch I would like to retrofit to a laser for are thin stuff(3 to 5mm or less) is this feasable? Thanks

Talk to Leon @ DT, he has done a laser before on on a DT. They use the oxy side. He did say it was big $$$$ The 3.6 sofware has more options for this type of stuff it appears.

You are right about that WSS, I think they shot us a figure of around 30K or more for the lazer add on to the DT table.

I saw where they were working on it, but I'm not sure if I ever heard anymore. If I recall correctly, the laser would be at least $100k.

Actually a laser that will cut up to 5mm steel that could be adapted to a conventional cnc plasma table (Fiber Laser technology) would be in the $200k price range. A C02 laser would be about double that price....and would require a lot of machine modifications for the beam delivery system.

Thanks guys that sounds like a little more than I want to invest.......sure looks cool though
