Question for Bill or others using Steel FX

Post by cbassjr »

It's been a while since I've used the dyes. I'm doing a 2 piece plaque for a Vietnam vet friend for xmas and will be using yellow, black and green. The question is should I use the copper fx as a base before I put the colors on to make them pop better when I clear coat it?

Copper FX is not required as a base for the Steel FX dyes. Nice polished steel is though. The dyes will seem dull when applied and as they dry. They will pop when you apply the clear coat. I aslo find the thicker that you can apply the dies the better the color looks after clear coat.
