pierces all over the place before cutting

Everytime I do this file sheetcam creates lots if start points besides the inside and outside cuts. on both of my cad programs it isn't showing any open contours, and it seems like all the lines are connected, but when I do my cut paths it goes crazy. Anybody know whats going on and can help? here is the file

There were individual lines are not closed contours. With VCarve Pro 5.5 everything connected.

I took a look at your DXF. There were 4903 individual lines in the DXF. I used Cam-Bam to join the the lines into 25 Polylines.

i'd rather teach the man to fish than give him a fish

i opened your dxf in sheetcam
the first obvious problem is various line segments on 3 layers
by turning on/off various layers in sheetcam you can see this
you'd also have to set up 3 operations to completely cut all lines

i opened the the file in autocad and changed everything to 1 layer
reopened in sheetcam and all is good, there were no open segments or corners
that's what's going on and how to fix it next time you run into this problem
not sure how you could change all segments to one layer quickly in sheetcam
maybe someone can post up a quick sheetcam fix to merge the layers

In sheetCam you would use select all from all layers then move to a layer.

to clarify... click on edit contours icon: arrow with C
right click on screen to see the menus available
