container for muriatic acid

What are you using to hold your muriatic acid. Most of my projects will be under 2'x3' but will cut larger at times.

If you don't keep it covered, the fumes will rust everything in sight. Plus it will loose it's potency.

I wondered, but didn't see a lid offered for the TSC tank. Does it need to be air tight, or is placing a flat panel over the tank good enough?

I use a couple of large 55 gallon rubbermaid garbage cans with locking lids. One for acid, the other for soda water to neutralize the acid. Works great for pieces that fit inside. For small parts, I found a stainless steel basket with holes in it (kind of like a strainer). Just put the parts in there and toss it in the bucket with rubber hose attached to the handle for retrieval. I plugged the hose on both ends and trapped the air in so it floats on top of the water/acid.

I used one of those big chemical storage tanks make 3' cubed. I cut it in half and built a wooden top for it. I also included a pad lock so I could keep a curious kid/ adult out. It worked for a couple of years. I didn't use the acid as much for dross removal as for removing the mill scale. Dross went away as well of course. I have now moved to P&O steel. It is much simpler. I have also reduced the amount of rust I get under my clear coat. The drying time after acid is now saved to me also. That was huge time saver. P&O seems to cut better, but it can be cut and finished in a matter of minutes rather than hours. I got rid of my acid tank a few weeks ago after almost a year of keeping it just in case.
