Corel X6 Question

Post by ironhorse »

I downloaded the trial and am having a heck of a time wrapping my head around it. Primarily I want to take a photo of my grandson and eventually make it into a file I can cut on my plasma table. Can anyone suggest the steps or direct me to a tutorial that covers that process?

Thank you in advance,

Greg

Greg, Corel Draw has several features to help you do what you need. And the built in help has had everything I've ever needed. In Corel draw you have to select (Click) an item before you can apply something to it, you know when it's selected when you see the little black handles all around it. The "Outline Trace" features will let the computer do the tracing. The Bezier, B-Spline and other drawing tools will let you trace by hand. Faces are tough; I have never drawn a front looking face that was worth cutting, I am sure there are people out there that can make that happen, it's just beyond my skill set. But luckily profile views are easy to cut and easy to trace. It always helps if you have a good picture to work with make sure there's a lot of contrast between your subject and the background and a plain white or dark background is best.
