hypertherm 65

Post by nrvbox »

i'm just about ready to purchase my first table and acc. including a new 65 with machine torch and handheld for off-table projects.i guess my question is about the ease of changing back and forth between the two and is there an interface or something i'll need to install for the candcnc electronics pkg.

The hand and machine torches have a quick connector that plugs into the front of the power supply in a couple of seconds with no tools. The power supply auto senses the differences in the torches and adjusts air pressure and interface (hand trigger vs cnc input) automatically. Make sure you order a Powermax85 with the CPC port (rear panel cnc interface). If you purchase a machine torch system....it will have the CPC, the hand torch versions usually don't.

If you order the package from CandCNC for plug and play with the Powermax65...it will simply be a plug in interface. Some versions of the CandCNC equipment also use the serial interface port on the Powermax....you may need that option as well.

Once you know what options you need for the CandCNC package...they likely can tell your the part numbers to order for the Powermax...or contact me and I can do the same.

thanks for the info on the torchs jim.as for the electronics and table i've decided(in two days) to purchase an arclight 9600 complete with a hypertherm 65 and machine torch.so i'll just have to buy a hand-held. Seeing your insight and interest on this site made choosing hypertherm my easiest decision yet!

Thanks for buying the Hypertherm.....and while I have not yet seen one...I hear that the ArcLite Dynamics machines are pretty nice.

Best regards, Jim
