We cannot afford the $500 price tag that comes with Corel Draw X6. I was doing some reading around here and decided Corel may be best for converting files to DFX without it being so broken.
I did find some new on Amazon at $55 Would you recommend this? We are just starting out & budget is tight but we need a quicker way to clean things up. Suggestions, please?
Which version of Corel Draw should I buy?

My mistake....the version on Amazon is X5 I am unsure of what to buy.
The 15 day trial of X6 is nice, but I need a permanent solution at a low price. I tried Inkscape & hated it; what hassle

i have bought two(x4 and x5) off of ebay and both worked great.I really like x5 and it should be reasonable, especially now that x6 came out.I think you will find x5 will do way more than the average person can use.Jim

def get x5, they made some nice changes over x4. I have x3 and x4, but tried the trial of x5 and really liked it.

Re: Which version of Corel Draw should I buy?
X3 and X4 only has dxf version 2000 and later, not ideal for cnc
X5 has dxf version down to 12, better for cnc, and it has the join nodes tool, very helpful for cnc
X6 adds native 64 bit support, and page numbers, not much improvement there for cnc
So just get X5, and don't get X3 or X4....
look around, I picked up X5 limited edition for $199 (comes with a wacom intuos 4 tablet)
and corel cad is currently on sale at newgg.com for $299 (reg. $699) don't know, but it says it has LISP and full DWG support, so I couldn't resist ordering it, and it is actually Ares CAD Commander rebranded, which gets good reviews... I doubt it has the text layout capability of corel draw though, so I doubt it will replace corel draw.
