Does anyone know how to convert Inkscape text to a dxf?

once you have the text you want, you need to convert "object to path"

Selct the text you want to convert and press "SHIFT+CTRL=C"
OR go to:
path -> "object to path"

This then converts the text outline to a vector which may then be saved as a DXF or edited with line and arc tools.
