Re: step by step on converting a photo to dxf with corel draw
Well, I sorely need to do some tutorials, so I'm thinking about it...
but it's always more about having the right photo and what can be done before tracing that makes the most difference
if anyone would like to propose a photo or two to try I will try to explain why or why not it might or might not work and that might get the ball rolling....

Re: step by step on converting a photo to dxf with corel draw
Okay, trying out x5. Now mind you have no experience in using this type of software.
1. I'm using same techniques Gary used in converting Dallas Skyline. In fact I am trying a different photo of Dallas.
2. I select saw the poloyline tool and I am done using the tool. How do I delete the poloyline tool and select say the select tool?
3. The I can not get the weld process to work. Please look at photo and help me with the weld process. I must be leaving out something as I am going to Arrange/Weld and nothing is happening.
Your help will be appreciated, Dawg

thanks, I will probably concentrate on prerequisite customizing and controlling issues first, they'll make drawing and cleaning easier, and shed light on many conditions that exporting and cleaning must take into accounttnttrikes wrote:i have a idea for the next video exporting and cleaning files

Re: step by step on converting a photo to dxf with corel draw
Gary, Thanks so much I have watched HUNDREDS of tutorials for CX5 and they are more for use in graphic art... This was the best one I have found for what we do... Would you consider doing a basic TOOLS how to tutorial... Right now I just click around till I find one that works.. I am sure others would join me in sending you some coin for your time

Gary, I just customized my tool bar per your video. Thank you so much. Can't wait to see the next training video.
At this time I work a full time job and work my plasma when I can..But that will change come 12/31/11. I am retiring
after 37 years with the same company and will have more time for learning x5.
Thanks, Dawg

Gary, I am going to take one of your files from the Super Bundle (football02) and add some text.
What file format do you recommend using to work in Corel x5 as you have dxf, gif and others?
Thanks, Dawg.

CMX is the corel format, that's what I'd use...

Re: step by step on converting a photo to dxf with corel draw
just to update y'all, I got sidetracked, I updated to windows 7 64 bit, to make tutorials better, then discovered that none of my (old 32 bit) vector software even works on windows 7, so now I have to get that working, because I really like windows 7 now that I tried it, and then I will make some more tutorials...

Join my thread; What am I missing. Or maybe we should start a new thread for Win/7.SignTorch Vector Art wrote:just to update y'all, I got sidetracked, I updated to windows 7 64 bit, to make tutorials better, then discovered that none of my (old 32 bit) vector software even works on windows 7, so now I have to get that working, because I really like windows 7 now that I tried it, and then I will make some more tutorials...
In PCam (software) the draw/text is finding fonts for the dropdown to add text, but will not convert some of them.
I need to know where the software is looking for them.
The Oklanhoma font was loaded through the 'install font' option but didn't get loaded into the windows/fonts file.
Very strange.
