PDF scan or image to dxf

Post by smilintodd »

Hi I'm wondering if anyone can trace this pdf image for me. I can scale it to the size needed, but the overall length is about 10 inches if it were horizontal.

Didn't we do this one already?

You can find the signature in a black and white image on Google IMAGES. That would be a LOT easier to trace or copy than using this photo.

An Inkscape auto trace of the image you provided produces the following. A better result could be obtained doing a manual trace. What drawing program do you know how to use? The result of the autotrace could be "tuned up" with some node editing to very closely match your original image. As it is now, you can see some flat spots and other defects in the trace result.

Hi Joe, ya you helped me before, but the guy wanted the same logo. Its a bit different, so I scanned the actual piece.

Your second one looks really good. I've played with inkscape a bit, but not very well versed. I usually don't do much with art stuff, usually just parts with either dimensioned drawings or napkin drawings with dimensions.

You can use an online program to remove the background to make it easier to autotrace.

Then import the result to Inkscape for auto trace and cleanup. You can follow along with the steps I show below and see what you can come up with. Please be sure to ask any questions if you get stuck or need additional help.

I have created a slide show on Google Drive as well. Here is the link.

I guess it was a model or car manufacturer. They only made them for a few years in the 50's or 60's. From what I'm told they are popular to build into drag racing setups.
