Hi my name is Matt and I'm from the STL area, I am a machinist by trade and already own a CNC mill I finished back in November.
I've found quite a number of projects in my backlog that all involve custom cut plate steel and after a bit of research I have chosen to just go ahead and build myself a CNC plasma. I'm hoping by joining this forum I'll gain access to some ideas and plans I haven't considered.

Welcome MAtt! Plenty of folks here have built their own and it sounds like with your past experience you will have no problem. Check out the DIY forum here viewforum.php?f=103 and keep us posted on your build, I like seeing what other guys are doing.
