In the Duramax machine torch cut chart the 45A cut capacity goes up to 1/2" mild steel without edge start. The Powermax SYNC cut chart for 45A stops at 1/4". Has anyone experimented cutting 3/8" & 1/2" mild steel with 45A SYNC cartridge on the Powermax45 XP?
I don't have material available to test with, I would like to know if this is possible without changing back to the old consumables. I assume the recipe from the Duramax chart could be scaled to the SYNC chart values.

Re: SYNC on 45XP Cut Capacity
I would never choose to cut 3/8 or thicker with 45 amps but if you have been successful in the past I expect you will see similar results with the Sync cartridge's.

Re: SYNC on 45XP Cut Capacity
I will have cut charts for the 45xp for up through 1/2" in the next month or so using the SYNC adapter with a 45 amp cartridge. When I get them I will post here for those that need / want to cut 3/8" and 1/2" steel at 45 amps with the cartridge. For now just use the speeds for the 45xp for 3/8" and 1/2", but change cut height and arc voltage to maintain .125" (instead of .060") cut height and go to .125" pierce height. Jim Colt

Re: SYNC on 45XP Cut Capacity
There is a new cut chart with more 45A SYNC settings if anyone was interested.
