Re: Hey there
Highly unlikely, but I appreciate the ego stroking.
p.s.
Watched Sound of Freedom opening day. There wasn't a single person in there not wearing red, white or blue and I live in Commiefornia!? What an intense, rage inducing film. Hard to say it was an amazing movie (because of the subject matter) but it was great being stuck in a room of strangers and patriots.

Poly Ticks are verboten here, but that movie made me wish I was 35 years younger with a strong back, and a bank role that would finance my life's mission to gleefully hunt down and brutally murder these animals. I would force them to BEG ME to end their lives.welbornmetalworks wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 6:43 pm

Nice, I use the barrel nuts too.welbornmetalworks wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 7:27 pmThanks. Much appreciated.
I weld 1/4-20 barrel nuts on the backside of the top layers and bolt them in through the back.
If they are sandwiched layers, I just use E6000

Re: Hey there
I have not tried this yet ... but I believe one could slice glue sticks into flat "coins" or short lengths, and heat the metal pieces to bond them. Heat the bottom and place the glue stick segments where you need them, cut to whatever length you require. When that cools, heat the next layer and lay it onto the mounts to allow the glue sticks to adhere to the back of the second layer. Do you think this would work?
It would be an interesting experiment!

Re: Hey there
I'd be worries about the glue getting soft on hot days and the layers falling off. Also, heating up a painted surface would probably cause finish issues. E6000 works great and is very resilient with heat and cold temperatures.Joe Jones wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 12:01 pm I have not tried this yet ... but I believe one could slice glue sticks into flat "coins" or short lengths, and heat the metal pieces to bond them.
