Have a customer who wants one-piece kitchen cabinet doors with some various designs.
Wondering if any of you have ever made these and have tips or tricks.
Cabinet frames are in (walnut) and I’m thinking either hidden hinge or a very small outside hinge mount
Anyone ever made kitchen cabinet doors?

Not sure if you are looking for wood or metal doors. If metal you may search here for different panel type with either designs or flowers that others have posted. Or wood that has be routed with different shapes or designs. For wood you may look at this type of hinge, they are easy to install and are not seen when closed.

Ok this is what a search for panel will show to give you an idea. You may need to scale them down and I'm sure there are others too. You also may search for lantern to get other patterns too.

Much appreciated I didn’t think to search on panel either

Re: Anyone ever made kitchen cabinet doors?
The first thing to do might be to consult with your customer to find out what sorts of designs they favor. The sky is the limit here. The main thing is to decide on your "mechanical design" once you have an idea of the design pattern. Will this be framed with some heavier gauge metal or tubing? Will you use a backer behind your artistic panel (perhaps painted a contrasting color) or will the pattern be "open" so that you can see right thru the panel? What sort of mounting will you use - hinges, latches, etc. So many choices. Let us know what your customer favors as far as the "artistic design" and then we can help to point you in the right direction. Or if the customer favors some sort of custom design based on photos, etc. then let us know and we can help you turn your photo images into a cut ready vector file.

Re: Anyone ever made kitchen cabinet doors?
I like both Davids Idea and acourtjester's ideas But put them together.
A nice wooden frame for rigidity and a nice cutout for aesthetics
ie. Build a wooden frame and attached a panel with a border around it like Davids file. And use a piano hinge or some other concealed hinge.
I have made many cabinets and doors in my day but almost exclusively out of stainless steel.
With stainless you may need to consider and plan for more warpage and ways to control it..

Doug - I agree that a wood frame with metal insert would be a nice way to go. Lots of different ways to accomplish that. I don't know if the OP has cabinet building expertise, or if his forte is strictly cnc plasma work. I will look forward to seeing what he comes up with.
