So my problem is on the first cut with the CM 82 there is a gas preflow delay of a couple seconds. After that ( while the postflow is still on ) it fires immediately when triggered. I installed the full CNC interface board hoping that would resolve the first fire delay, but it did not. Does anyone have a workaround for this? I'm trying not to have to modify my first pierce delay time.
Thanks again

You could possibly modify your post processor to add a specified dwell (G04) to accommodate the gas delay. You could also add it manually to your g-code to test it out.

You just need to dummy fire the torch before your first cut to get the post flow air going. This could probably be added to your post processor if you are using SheetCam.
People who do peck piercing with a Hypertherm run into this issue as well. The first peck is different due to the air not running.

Thanks guys. That's what I do now, tap the trigger, wait a second and start the program. Was just hopping there was a way not to have to.

Are you using SheetCam? If so, what post processor? I'm sure it can be made to dry fire the torch before the first cut.

Re: Using a Cutmaster 82 with CNC question.
I'm using Fusion 360. I read elsewhere there's an option in Sheetcam for a 2 second first pierce delay.
For now I just drew up a test piece with a couple pierces in it. Used Wordpad to edit my first G4 P to 2 seconds. Hopefully will get time to test later this week.
It's kind of frustrating, customer service at TD said I needed the automation card and would be good to go. $350 between the card and CPC plug. Card does nothing other than give me divided voltage (my THC is wired for raw voltage so that's no use) and pins for the trigger.
Thanks again for the help!

I don't believe you have told us what table/controller you are using. But mention Sheetcam, so perhaps this might help.
