EDU-S/ EDU-M Student- teacher software questions

I have recently started trying to use Torchmate EDU- M and the students have been using EDU-S.

I can't figure out how to I pull up something drawn from the EDU-S version in the EDU-M, much less get it to a cut ready file?
And obviously since I've been unable to accomplish this, I don't know if I can change a EDU-S file in the EDU-M file or will it have to be sent back to the student version?

I’ve noticed a few things that don’t seem right with the EDU-M, the biggest of which is the “Acquire Image” option. Using the EDU-S version it works great and the EDU-M version doesn’t work at all. I only get two options; Acquire or Select Source. and when I click either of them i get a pop up Acquire…"Scanner not installed or scanner drivers not installed correctly"
Or
Select Source… "No scanners are currently installed or connected"
Is that the case for everyone in the EDU-M? I uninstalled a good working version of CadCam (if there is such a thing lol) and now I can't even perform a very common task. It's frustrating.
