Cutting edge=precision plasma???

Post by Birdiemc »

Are these the same company???? I had a real long post with lots of questions typed up but somehow it disappeared, so I'll settle for answering this one question
..I'm in the market to spend $5k on a cnc plasma table and it's about as confusing as deciding what taste the color purple smells like.

These would appear to be two separate companies. As far as I can tell, Precision Plasma LLC manufactures and sells parts and assemblies for plasma table construction. Cutting Edge Plasma incorporates parts from Precision Plasma into finished "turn-key" cnc plasma tables.

I have no personal experience with Precision Plasma/Cutting Edge Plasma, but it looks like they offer at least one cnc table that is within your $5k budget.

New to this site, I shopped both several weeks ago. Cutting Edge is a nephew to Precision Plasma. Looks like a nice machine, good response from Matt. I have not chosen a table yet, leaning toward Boss Tables.

Hope this helps.

I think you got out the door a lot cheaper than had you purchased new equipment from Cutting Edge/Precision Plasma. Did you buy the Hypertherm 65 along with the home built DIY table? Or did you already have a plasma cutter? Good luck and let us know how your new table works out for you.

I bought the Hypertherm 65.... slowly learning how all this works, but managed to cut out a pig today :)

Now I just gotta figure out how to draw my own stuff instead of ripping it off from the web...the place I got the pig svg from has been blowing up my inbox with spam.

There's lots of dxf files here that probably won't blow up your inbox.
