Having trouble installing fonts

Ok, I am trying to install some fonts I downloaded but they aren't showing up in Inkscape. I extracted the files and installed them and they show up for other programs on my computer, but Inkscape doesn't have them listed. I've restarted Inkscape, didn't work. I restarted the computer and it still didn't work. Any ideas? All I can find in the Inkscape help is that it should recognize fonts installed on the computer.

I have had this happen in the past and I believe the solution was to remove the font from the Windows\Fonts folder (just cut and then paste it in downloads or something) and resinstall by right clicking on the font and clicking on "Install for all users" and that gave me access to it from Inkscape.

I have had that problem too it seems like some of the fonts I can access appear slightly different from looking at them in windows/font and what will show in Inkscape, close but not exact. I will need to try Sonbakler's solution, if I can remember the fonts I added

Yeah, it was the "install for all users" thing. Got it figured out after some advice from FB. Thanks guys!
