hey all sorry about a loaded post.
so i downloaded qcad and inkscape played around a bit but cant really get the jist of it is there any good tutoials anywhere that has like example projects at all? also what is the prefered software for a beginner? i am also on the fence on which machine to buy, ideally id like to stay under the 10k turnkey range if possible. thanks

There are many tutorials for Inkscape on YouTube, many show one type of info, like putting letters on a carve. There are some that are for starters and cover the commands or functions to do different things. It is a great program and free!

If you look at table check here for members that have one for some direct answers, there are some to really avoid and many good one but the price point may be higher then your 10K range.
