Re: Corel DrawX5
I was very familiar with 5 then my truck was stolen with my laptop in it and I could not find my install disc
I had no luck finding a legit copy of 5 and tried a few different things that didn't work. I ended up trying the X8 30 day trial and liked it so I sprung for it and have been happy.
Corel's business model and service hes degraded signifigantly over the last 10 years but my unwillingness to learn new software keeps me married to it.
All in all I am happy with it.

That along with multiple decades of files in the .cdr format sums it up for me too.
DXF do the demo if you like it the student / home version can be found in the $50 +/- range on ebay and is good for 3 computers. Just buy from a US sales site and you should be fine..

Re: Corel DrawX5
Thanks. All I need it for is to convert a DXF file to JPEG and then fill it with color.....I had it a long time ago and liked it. Can't do that in Inkscape or DesignEdge that I'm aware of. Thanks

Inkscape wont save as jpeg but it will save as .png, what I use for sample images. If you have the ability to save the .dxf as .pdf that will import into Inkscape and allow one to apply color.
