downloading dxf files

Post by bigd420 »

i think the title needs to be changed from DXF Art - DXF Clip Art File Sharing **REGISTER TO DOWNLOAD DXF FILES** to Register and contribute to download dxf files.
Also i would like to add that i think just because some people got mad we sould not have to pay to download the files. i thought this was a SHARING site. i mean i understand that you all do not want people mooching off ya'lls files and then not sharing back, but for example in my case, i do not have the knowledge to make the great files that are on this site. how ever i can take the file and nest it on my nesting program that i have and cut like that. i can honestly say that i have not taken anyones ideas or files and made any mpney off of them. i have how ever taken some and cut little things here and there to put in my mothers garden or on my childrens walls. thats what i thought this site was about but i guess i was wrong...and please if i'm wrong please say so

I can see where you are coming from... But I wouldn't look at as FEE that you are paying to download files. Heck I don't even own a table yet, I'm not even sure what a DXF is just yet :) But I paid because I felt that it helps keep the lights on. Running a site is not the easiest or cheapest thing to do. I would say anything under 100.00 bucks is a small fee to pay for the wealth of info and great people on this site. My .2

I agree with Jimmyrig. I'm new to this site & I feel that all the things I've learned so far have been invaluable knowledge for me! We should all contribute something; if not files and instruction, then $$ for the privilege of learning & sampling.

I think that everyone who has payed to download the files would agree with me when I say the money is well worth the files......You are free to get a wealth of knowledge in any other of the forums....with out charge.....plasmaspider patrons give their advise and ask for nothing in return........This site does not run itself, and has to be maintained and monitered at all times....the administrator can put a lot of hours into doing all of this.......and without some income the site would not exist and you would not have access to anyof the information given on this site...........For what its worth thats just my two cents

I never had the ability to make my own files either. I have started without knowing a damn thing. I have read a lot on the net, watched videos, tried different programs, asked for advice on here, and trial and error. In 2 years I am proud to say that I am confident enough to say that "I can design that". I do offer to help others out on this site as many others do, if it takes 2 hours or 10 min to make a file. I love the challeng of creating someone elses ideas, and the feedback has been great-----good or bad. If someone were to ask for something from me I would ask that they enjoy what someone else has created for them and not take it for granted.

I think that it should be changed so that you have to be a contributing member to post also, that would stop spammers
or make them support the site.

Those who contribute, download the work of others, or both, do so in the full knowledge that we are part of a community. If I contribute a piece of work for the benefit of others I am doing so because I myself have downloaded the work of others on this forum. Whilst I enjoy giving back, I do not intend my work to be a free-for-all.

Personally, I thing the contribution aspect keeps away freeloaders. Either the site offers you some value for your contribution, or you move on. You are not obliged to use the site, you are not obliged to contribute. There are plenty of other resources available to you.

Pay Up or Shut Up, of this I feel very strongly.

Although you make a great point about the spammers, you have to realize that we all probably kept tabs on this site with out the dxf file just so we could learn some stuff and have our questions answered. I would not have joined on a promise that this site would be informational. I became a contributing member because I found out first hand that it was..
As far as the spammers go they are easy to ban......just report the post and I for one will be on top of it

The fact that this site only locks a small portion of its content (mainly the intellectual property, that could be copied
and used for profit by ill willed user's) is to be commended.

I appreciate the wealth of information that is available, and stories of others who have had my same experiences and ultimately the access...to interact, if needed with premium experts & amateurs in this industry...

Now I can create my own files, and hopefully "pay it forward" to someone who was once in my position, its the trade-off
for not just using a forum for downloads, plug-ins or short-cuts from effort...

... I do intend to donate soon...
