Torch fire
I have a precision plasma table and hypertherm 45 with candcnc controls. My problem is the torch is firing off as soon as I give power to the controller. Not the on off button on the front of the controller but the main power source. If I wait to turn the plasma cutter on after mach3 is up I get blinking lights on the plasma. I disconnected the plasma cutter from the cnc system and it works fine with a hand torch. Tested and calibrated the thc sensor that hooks to the plasma cutter but everything looks fine. Curious if the Ethernet cable could possibly be bad. That's the only thing going from the plasma cutter to the controller. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Torch fire
I had a similar problem and I had to switch the logic in ports and pins for the torch in Mach 3.
Hope that helps.

Re: Torch fire
The start signal input to the plasma is a simple contact closure from your control electronics.
If the plasma is powered up and ready when you activate your controller....and the plasma fires, that means your start output (start input on the plasma) is in the closed position.
If you turn the controller on first, then the plasma next....the plasma internal safety circuit will sense the start signal was on, and will not allow the torch to fire. This is a safety circuit so the system cannot fire unexpectedly.
1. Most likely you have the output contacts reversed (normally closed.....should be normally open)
2. There could be a short in the cable that goes to the plasma....or it could be miswired.
