Directions for backing your plasma table?s computer
Backing up your tables? computer can be one of the most cost effective and simple ways to decrease your chance of costly down time. All of our computers are covered by our two year warranty, however you will most likely experience down time while repairs are made or a replacement computer is sent out. These directions will show you how to create an exact clone of your computer?s hard drive, providing you with an invaluable backup.
Things you will need:
1. A backup computer, you will need to get the exact same model as your current plasma table?s computer. For most of you this will be a Dell GX 620, these can easily be found on Ebay. You will need to get a computer with the same size or bigger hard drive; it can?t have a smaller hard drive.
2. A internet connected computer that has a CD burner and a blank CD to burn.
3. A USB flash drive with 5 to 8gigs of free space.
First you?ll need to download the Redo backup and recovery software, http://redobackup.org/ . This is an image file that will need to be burned to a CD. You will need special software to specifically burn a image file to your disk. Your operating system may have the ability to burn a image file or you can get a software like imgburn, http://www.imgburn.com/ . Once you have it burned to a disk, this will now be a bootable file.
Now take that disk out to the plasma table?s computer and place it in the cd drive and then turn the computer off. Next you will turn the computer back on, but when the computer gets to the Dell screen hit F12 this will bring you into the boot menu. Here you will tell the computer to boot from the CD-ROM drive first.
Now your computer will load up the redo backup software and you?ll come to a start screen where you can tell it to start the redo software. If you select start and the computer fails to boot the software try using the safe mode option.
A. Next you will select the Backup option.
B. Make sure you have your USB flash drive plugged in.
C. Select the source for the backup. This is the hard drive with your operating system on it, Windows XP.
D. Next you will be able to select the partition you want to copy. Unless changes have been made your computer should have one partition, so you can just click next here.
E. Now you select the destination drive. This will be your USB drive.
F. Now select the file on you USB drive where you want to save the backup, give your backup a good descriptive name.
G. Once it completes the backup, shut down the redo software and remove your disk and USB drive.
Cloning the backup computer
Take your Redo software and USB drive to your replacement computer and repeat the steps listed above till you get to the screen where you selected the ?backup? option (step A)
A. Now select the restore option, making sure you have the USB drive plugged in
B. Select your USB drive as the source.
C. Pick your backup image from the location you saved it to.
D. Select the computer?s hard drive as the destination drive.
E. Now overwrite the new computers hard drive to produce an exact clone of your current tables computer.
Lastly plug your backup computer into the table and verify that it operates the table correctly.
