There may be some who do it by the pierce or inch. Keeping track of number of pierces might help you get a handle on consumable cost, but I personally would just figure that into the overall cost. My software calculates cut time and number of pierces. I just go by cut time and figure consumables into overhead. Trying to get a good starting point to refer to when doing quotes. We get a lot of drawings on multiple gauges of steel and want to make sure we are not screwing the client or ourselves. Appreciate any assitance
