For Kentucky? The roof can handle anything Kentucky can throw at it. I think my property has received a total of 16 inches of snow over the past 14 years.

Right I see this kind of stuff and imagine how much easier life would be! Where I'm at (Idaho) 50 lb. snow load is required and the foundation has to be below the frost line which is 36" if I remember right.

The project is coming along ...

This is just a CONCEPT drawing. It is not the final design. The pallet rack will serve to hold the sheet metal for the fiber laser table. The other pallets will be able to be placed on top of the deck from the front, and will then be moved into place, or into the main building at the floor level, using a pallet jack. I may set up shelving units for supplies etc. for the lasers on the second floor of the FrankenBarn. An opening will be cut through the wall to allow passage from the main structure to the extension on both levels.

That's gonna take some pretty good framing to support the weight of the second floor with that large of a clear span.

But it will make one heck of a storage building when completed. Plenty of room to store lots more inventory.

I'm wondering if there is anything for sale anymore. Haven't heard about any auctions for a while.

Need to do some more bidding at some of the auctions and fill that thing up. Lots of room for storage racks and shelves to hold all the goodies.
He's gonna need some sort of fancy computer based inventory system just to keep track of all of this stuff.

The second floor will be independent of the building frame. It will have its own leg supports and laminated I-beam cross section. The entire building can be removed, and the second floor in this extension would remain untouched.

I have backed off of the auctions for a while. I have a LOT on my plate now, and I need to get things going to generate more money. The 1000 Watt fiber laser arrives tomorrow, along with the 5K forklift required to unload it ($975 1-day rental!). I am adding more to the building extension too. Many other things all demand money that is running low at the moment.... :Wow

There is a LOT of potential here though. I am sure I will be generating a nice income inside of a month or two. I have two great but expensive helpers who cost me a dollar a minute when they are both here, but they WORK for their money! An 8-hour day is $480.00. No stopping for cigarettes. No checking their phones. No anything. Just good, honest, hard working young men worth every penny, and no complaints!

I keep getting these emails, reminding me of things. The SwiftSHAPE machine will be delivered soon. I forgot I even bought it! :-o I had a residual $225.00 shipping fee to pay tonight, but now it is fully funded and will arrive shortly. The MR1 is still in the shipping crate, along with so many other things. The TYVOK 48"x96" laser should also be on the way ...

Priorities shift rapidly here. Now, with the laser arriving tomorrow, I need to complete this building extension FIRST, to get the machine out of the rain, and I will have to cover it with a 'YUGE tarp in the meanwhile. I am adding more lumber to the extension so I can line the inside with OSB and spray foam insulation. Then I have to order a roll up garage door for the front opening. Electric power, and lights, and outlets .... The extension will become home to the fiber laser table, the iron worker, the roll bender, the large belt sander, and several other things I have recently added to the stack-of-stuff.

Things happen. As I am not using the siding that came with the three barn kits because the pieces are too short for the extended height wall (15 feet), I decided to buy a boat load of 2" square tubing, and make 8' x  ' garden sheds! I have all of this siding and roofing material here and I cannot use it. I just need to weld together some steel tube frames, and wrap them in tin. I probably have enough to make about 30 of these sheds, which, when all are sold, will pay for this extension to the Frankenbarn.

Menards has the 26-foot wood I-beams, and the steel frame will be made from metal found on Facebook Marketplace. So everything is coming together quite nicely.

 No ... That is the 1000 watt fiber laser machine. It was delivered before the building is ready, so it sits outside for now, waiting for an enclosure. The purchase includes a tech flown in from Vegas, who will assemble the machine and related components, and give me two full days of training on the machine and software. I am really looking forward to this!
