Nice work Jim! Have you cut one of these yet? It would be fun to import your dxf to Fusion 360 and use the sheet metal tool to bend it up and see what it will look like.

That's some awesome work! Your first post in eight years, I guess you keep quiet unless you have something huge to share! LOL

Thanks David! No, I am still working in Italy and my table is now in Canada. I have a lot of files to cut when I get home this summer for a visit!

Jim - do you have a link to the original post by Scratch so we can see what it looks like when cut and folded up? I remember he made a bunch of these a while ago.

Never mind. I see it is all contained in this single thread. I was just trying to figure out exactly what it is supposed to look like so I know where the bend lines (and bend angles) are for modeling with Fusion 360. I do see different versions - so I will need to figure out exactly which one most closely matches your layout.

Thanks,
David

I'm assuming that it is supposed to look like this.

Yes, it does bend like that. The front hood and windscreen piece sits on top of the front fender supports

OK. Thanks! Now I see differences between your edited file and the Scratch original. When I get some time, it would be fun to model it up with Fusion 360. Have you been using Fusion 360 yet? It's free for personal use and pretty easy to learn.

Here is something similar I did a while back based on some photos in one of the Plasmacam brochures. I had a friend who wanted to make something similar so I modeled it up in Fusion 360 and created the flat patterns for him to cut and bend.

I love it when someone posts something and the internet does what it does and makes it better! Cmillercustoms and adbuch, your posts remind me of my wagon I built a while ago, that I'm not sure I ever posted. Since we're talking sheet metal jeeps here, I might as well post it here.

I made this jeep wagon for my girls back in about 2008. The body is made out of 1/8" steel and has a rear receiver hitch, diamond plate aluminum cooler rack, removable hood, Beadlocks, 4-wheel steering, front and rear bumpers with clevis hooks and a double triangulated three link coilover suspension.
