Re: welding fixture table top
There are slight changes between the base assemblies, like the pivot point and the angle fences for making angled cuts.
Here is a link for the Google drive with a folder with many images of the construction and a PDF file with some descriptions.
this used a Harbor Freight saw but I'm sure slight modifications to other brands would work too.

Thanks David I built it from scrap laying around the shop . Watched a couple of videos of people building one , then adapted what I had . The rollers are 1 1/4 " heavy walled pipe . with 3/4 bolts acting as axles .

I built a plate roller some time back, I used DOM tubes telescoping inside each other for the rollers. It was 13" wide, I could do 3/8" for some narrower plate, used it to make a large wheel for the plate roller. Had to move outside due to the length of the tube I rolled. I also rolled some smaller wheels for a rail road luggage type cart I built, Sold it to a guy making fire pits.

Re: welding fixture table top
I bought a 36" Pexto slip roll 25+ years ago. Which is in perfect shape to this day.
But it will not budge the thicker stuff.
Those both look awesome!

Using the plasma table for the cut and sealing the edges with masons flex is a nice touch. How's the flap wheel finish holding up?

Re: welding fixture table top
Tom - that is a pretty impressive machine you built there! Heavy duty - to say the least. I bought a new Pexto slip roller back in 2000 for a project rolling some copper sheet for cooling jackets. The slip roller is only rated at 22 ga. full width, but it did handle the 0.060" thick copper fine. These were only about 12" wide or so. I have also used it for 0.060" aluminum for making fan shrouds. I do sometimes wish I had something more robust - like maybe the one dirtmotor built.

Re: welding fixture table top
One like yours that can roll 11 ga steel would be great to have. Perhaps I will need to take a closer look at your build and maybe come up with something similar. Do you have any links to the videos or articles you looked at when you built yours?
Thanks,
David

I cut two of these ends and 4 top plates also cut four more partial top plates to shim it out far enough so the 3/4 all thread adjustment bolts can pass through to bear down on bearings on center roller , I had some 2 foot pieces of 1 1/4 DOM with 3/4 center holes so I simply cut 3/4 bolts and inserted into dom and used roll pins to attach . I used a couple of motorcycle sprokets for chain drive , only used bearings on center roller and put a couple of small angles on out side of bearings to keep bearing centered . The bearings are just there so the all thread is not bearing on center roller axles directly .There are 4 3/8 grade 8 bolts holding the removable adjusters in place .I used 2x2 x1/4 angle iron for side support . Dont remember which videos I watched . Hope this helps .
