Money for your time

Post by jimmyrig »

Would anybody be interested in doing a step by step tutorial on how to clean up and simplify this drawing. Basically it has been done up in Autocad2004. (this took way to long)
Trying to import it into Corel Draw x5 to clean it up.
From there I load it into sheetcam to create tool paths and g-code
Load into Mach3 for cutting

I tried to cut it once and it did okay. But The machine gets all confused as i think there are to many lines....

Trying to figure out a faster way to take jpegs and turn them into cut ready DXF

I have spent a week doing tutorials with Coreldraw.... Problem is I only really needed to learn a small section of it to do what we all need. I have watched hours of you tube videos, read blogs, and so on. Yet most have been with some other program (inkscape, photoshop,) Looking for somebody who uses Corel draw X5

The DXF tool is for exporting a dxf file out of Corel. It is not going to help you do the actual drawing.

Actually this image was all done in Autocad and snapping lines, then deleting.....It to WAY to long.... Tried messing with it in Corel, I think it did a better job. Just figuring out the best way to get it done...

I use Plasma Cam. I loaded the file and cleaned it up in less the 5 min. You have everything there. From my point of view you did 99% of the work. You have a few areas (2 or 3) that were not closed and a few closed areas that had an attached line to them. That was really it. I don't use Corel but Plasma Cam shows the closed and open objects. That makes it easy to see. Look at the file and see the small changes. I hope this helps.
