ProMotion Windows XP Grey Screen

Post by solomanb »

Hi all
I have a Koike table with Promotion Controls . I have had this problem off and on when first turning the computer on a grey screen appears and no boot up of Windows XP. When this happened previously I did a forced shutdown turned on again and windows booted up. The screen usually blinks twice before Windows boots.
Not this time no boot up. Anyone else have this happen any insight would be appreciated. Have contacted Victor Technologies, they bought out Promotion but being the weekend ......
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply
Changed the battery screen blinked once then when gray and there is a beeping from the small speaker they have in the cabinent. This beeping was not consistent with each restart. They still haven't returned my call maybe soon.

If you google the mother board name with beep error is should tell you what the number of beeps mean.
Most mother boards have their name screen printed somewhere on them. Look for a name and model number.
Mine is ASUS B85M-G jsut for reference as to what it looks like
try this site http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm
here is another https://kb.iu.edu/d/afzy
something is broke if it beeps
With the newer computer mother boards if you loose the disc or mother board you will need to start over and load all the software.
A back-up disc will not help unless you replace the mother board with exactly the same one. What you will see is the computer starts the boot and gets to a point where windows displays its splash screen and then it reboots. This will repeat over and over again with out a complete boot.
