Working on a part in Corel X6, looks fine there but when I open the exported dxf in SheetCam 6.0.15 the top right corner of my part is cropped off at a 45 ...... what am I doing wrong ... sometimes Corel really leaves me scratching my head ...
see the pic comparison ( check the difference in the upper right hand corner of the same part ) and have a look at the .cdr file .............

Re: Cropped corner when file opened in sheetcam ...... hmmm ...
I wouldn't be so sure it is Corel. I use Autocad to draw and edit dxf files. I just had this happen the other day in SheetCam also and what I discovered was that the outline of the file was a spline. I traced it and made it a polyline and when imported into Sheetcam all was fine. I don't think Sheetcam likes splines for some reason. Just my conclusion from a single incident.

Re: Cropped corner when file opened in sheetcam ...... hmmm ...
Thanks, your post prompted me to spend a couple evenings researching the difference between splines and polylines. Learned from that, however, don't think that's my problem. I used the rectangle, ellipse and virtual segment delete tools to draw this up. Cant see that there would be any splines involved ........... unless I'm missing something.tnbndr wrote:I wouldn't be so sure it is Corel. I use Autocad to draw and edit dxf files. I did recently update SheetCam and had not seen this problem before.
Still looking ............

Try exporting in SVG format it will probably cure that, seems to be the best format from Coreldraw.

Re: Cropped corner when file opened in sheetcam ...... hmmm ...
I get that all the time exporting dxf from X5 and opening in Sheetcam.
I've got Adobe Illustrator too and I save my finished X5 file as AI, opening it in AI then export as dxf from there. Works every time so far, and the import to Sheetcam is fast and clean. If you can get hold of any other program maybe you can try something similar. Coreldraw can save in quite a lot of formats.
Another option is the DXFTOOL for Coreldraw, by James Leonard.
Lots of people get by with just the SVG export but lots of times I've found it takes a long time to process in Sheetcam and always seems to say overlapping outlines are being removed, even though there's definitely only one outline.

I use Autocad to save in dxf format and have seen the corner cropping issue in SheetCam.

I used to have this problem. I started saving in SVG format and it hasn't happened since.

That happens to me to. I usually just go back to Corel draw delete the out line and draw a new one and problem fixed .

Another workaround I've heard is to put a tiny fillet on the offending corners, not something you can actually see but it's there.
