So here's what I'm trying to do, I would like to be able to cut out just inside of the red, John showed us how to expand the line by using the stroke tool, I would like to reduce the line and only cut the middle. Reason being I'm plate marking on the line and want to cut out just inside the plate marker. So that the detail is done with the plate marker and the plasma will cut where it can fit. I'm using TM Cad 7 and I have Corel Draw X6.
This is in TM Cad 7
Here's where I am so far. I want ot cut out the red outline also.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Trying to offset a line.
I don't really know, but could you change the kerf width of the tool you're using in Sheetcam? Since Sheetcam calculates the cut-line based on kerf width, if you made the kerf width setting wider, then Sheetcam would offset the cut further. You could plate mark on the inside of the contour, and plasma cut on the outside of the contour. The width of the kerf would be the desired distance between the two.
Like I said, I don't really know, but that's the thought that popped into my head!

Re: Trying to offset a line.
Use the contour tool in Corel Draw.
First, import the image in Corel Draw, then "break the curve apart" so that each piece is separate.
Then, select the inside piece that you want to cut 'inside' of.
Then go to your Contour tool flyout. Enter in the size of the contour (distance from the original that you want the line to be), then select the amount of steps (one, unless you want more than that), then make sure that "Inside" is selected and hit apply.
This will draw a line that is perfectly identical and inside of the outer line. Then you will want to make it two pieces.
Select the object, then right click and select "Break Contour Apart". This will take your one object and make it two. Then you can do a couple of different things. You could cut the inner object out of the outer one or you can just save and export it for cutting. If I get time I will do a graphic for you.
Hope that helps.

The way I would do it in Corel is to use the contour tool and create a contour of the original line selecting the inside option and then break contour apart and save the line you want as your new line.
