When you go to "save as" there should be a ton of options when you click the little down arrow on "save as type". One will be dxf

Thanks ou812!

I made a 2nd file and having the same issue. I put the wrong horse in the first one. When I save it to DXF and open up my DXF Viewer there is nothing there. What am I doing wrong? I have attached the dxf file. Can anyone else get the dxf to open? Thanks!

did you create a path of what you are doing first before saving yours will not open in Inkscape or sheetcam.
The text file from above will open fine.
In Inkscape you can highlight the object and the do object to path then click on F2 or the edit path by nodes Icon under the arrow on the left side. move the cursor over the object and you should see a red outline for a second as you move over the object this shows the object has a path. No path no DFX output!!!!

Well I feel like an idiot. I guess you cannot take a jpeg and try to save it into DXF file. Still Learning. Hopefully someday I will figure this out!

correct....you would have to do a trace bitmap on it
I don't use it very often....someone else would have tutor you on this as I am not that familiar but one you have traced the bitmap you can save as a dxf
